Amsterdam day 2

I was able to fall asleep almost immediately last nght. I'm told it stormed heavily overnight, but I slept straight through until two minutes before my 7am alarm.

After breakfast at the hotel, we walked down to the Van Gogh museum. I'm not normally an art enthusiast, but I really enjoyed this. The broad, sweeping strokes of Van Gogh's brush really brought emotion to his depictions of what would otherwise be very ordinary scenes. The €5 audio tour I paid for was definitely worth the extra cost.

Afterwards, we walked down to the adjacent Museumplein, which is a big park that adjoins both the Van Gogh and the Rijksmuseums. It was a nice relaxing place, with a massive reflecting pool. The weather today is absolutely perfect, in the low 70s, slightly overcast, and no rain so far.

Currently, we're having lunch at a low-key restaurant on the Kaizersgracht called Morlang. Afterwards, it's off to begin the first of our business tours.
